Training Day 37: February 27
I'm writing this post from my new laptop!!! Woot woot! (Jesus provided me with a Macbook Pro for only $300!!) Sorry for that side note...
I walked only 4 miles today, then had 2.5hrs of dance.... It was a beautiful sunny (and cold!) I had a wonderful walk in the sunshine with our dog, Chloe :)
I was looking back on some of my earlier blog posts and marveling at how far I've come, training wise. About a month ago, I walked 6 miles with Jamie, and that was such a accomplishment! Now I do 4 and call it short... Thank you Jesus for helping me train and giving me endurance

Rest Day: February 26
The other day was simply beautiful! (taken with my iphone 4s) |
This morning I was blessed with almost $400 from three different people! I love how God works, His timing is always perfect! Last night I was praying for a release of finances and look how quickly He responded!
Today I woke up to a light dusting of snow, but it was all melted by 10:30... It is currently cold, but sunny (I've missed the sun!)
PS- I leave in 18 days!!!!!
Training Day 35: February 25
So... I DID 14 MILES TODAY!!!!!!!! Woot woot!! (can you tell I am a little excited?!?!)
I have now reached phase three of my training program for the Back to Life Walk. I will be walking 8-14 miles every day! (before I was doing core/strengthening/dance twice a week and walking the other days with a rest day) So I will be waking more each day, to prepare for the big walk!
Today as I walked (mostly alone, the first and last few miles I had my dad and sister) I listen to a Matt Lockett (www.bound4life.com) webiner, where he had spoken to us walkers, it was so encouraging to listen to his teaching again! One thing he said, that really struck me was, "Intercession is our supreme vocation, because history belongs to the intercessors." If an intercessors like Esther could change the course of history, then so can we! It's that encouraging?
Oh!!! And we are only 20 day away from starting!!! (I leave in 18 days!!!) wow, I really can't believe how fast time has flown! Jesus, you are so good!

Training Day 42: February 22
So... I'm sore!
Jamie and I did about 8 miles today, which I know isn't that long, but with doing my first 12 on Monday, my lower back is still hurting...
It rained hard all day yesterday and then the high winds started last night and are still going strong! Which makes it a little harder for training, but not too bad :)
Please keep me in your prayers, my lower back is pretty sore and my body doesn't really like the antibiotics (which are helping my eye infection, but making me feel sluggish... :/

Training Day 40: February 20
TODAY I WALKED TWELVE MILES!!!! The longest one yet... And I'm not too sore (yet...) I did six miles alone, walked about two with Mom and Dad and then a couple more alone, then the last few with Britt (she walked Friday with me :) It was nice walking weather- overcast, with sometimes a light breeze or a short sprinkle, so I kept cool :)
Today being President's Day, we should focus on praying for President Obama, that he would choose righteousness and that God would elect (or reelect) the perfect man for our country. We are in need of a godly leader, someone who will act justly and love mercy. What if all the times we feel like complaining about our leadership, we turn it into a prayer for transformation and encounters from Jesus Christ in their own lives!

I know, I know... I haven't posted in a few days.... Sorry y'all....
Since going back to the doctor on Wednesday and getting another round of antibiotics, I've been feeling a lot better! I've been able to keep training and dancing.
We have had a lot of rain here in the NW Washington area! The past few days I have come home soaked! But I love walking in the rain, there is just something about it.....
On Friday, Britt, one of the girl's I nanny wanted to walk with me! So we did a shorter walk, but the rain and wind picked up near the end and in the last 20 minutes of the walk, we were soaked to the bone! But we had fun :)
As usual, Jamie and I walked yesterday (Saturday) we ran out of time, so weren't able to do a long walk, we just did 6 miles (When I first started training, the first time we did six miles, we were so proud of ourselves! Now we're like, "that was a short walk!"). She is such an awesome friend, to walk all these miles with me and lots of the time in the wind or rain! You rock Jamie!
I am less then a month away from embarking on this walk, I'm so excited!! Yikes!!!! But... I still need your help to get me there, if you want to donate to help me on this walk, contact me.

Spent the day working on that 'top secret film project' :) So wasn't able to get any walking in....
We are only 32 days away from embarking on this historic journey! Back to Life still needs to raise money for their mission! Consider donating, no amount is to small (or too large!) an you can donate via paypal!
Training Day 32-33: February 12-13
Training Day 31: February 11
TODAY I WALKED 9.55 MILES WITH MY AMAZING FRIEND, Jamie :)
It was the longest walk I've done yet, and after a good soak in a hot tub, I'm actually not to sore (we'll see how I feel tomorrow morning :)
I'm feeling much better! My eye was sore earlier today, but now is not :) I know that your prayers (and a good dose of antibiotics) I'm recovering quickly
Training days 27-29: February 7-9
Sorry for the lack of post- I've been sick :/
Well... I was in bed most of Monday with a terrible throbbing eye and headache. Tuesday I felt a little better, I was able to be up and about and did a few miles with my friend Katherine :) I also did a little school and work.
Wednesday morning I woke up to a swollen eye and it hurt so bad! I had a few coffee meetings with friends in the morning and had to take my younger sister (Tatsi) to an ortadontis appointment. By the time I got home, the pain was almost unbearable. I laid down and rested for a little while, had some prayer and it felt a little better. Mom decided to take me into have my eye looked at. We waiting for almost three hours to see a doctor, who told me I had an eye infection :( so she prescribed me some antibiotics. After a goodnights sleep and those antibiotics, I'm feeling much better!
Thank you Jesus for doctors and antibiotics! Will try to walk some today, but don't want to do much. It's raining :) Good thing I live in Washington, because I love the rain :)
Training Day 26: February 6
So... Yesterday was Sunday. My rest day :) I went shopping with my dear mother and got some needed walking gear! Woot woot!
This morning I tied to get up at 7, but couldn't- my eye was throbbing and I had a sore throat and dry cough :/ no fun! So I spent the day in bed, sleeping, praying, thinking, reading (I finished 'The Mantle of Esther' by Larry Christenson- such an amazing book about intercession!!) and journaling. It was a restful day, but I felt restless... I wasn't able to walk or go to dance or school today.
I'm feeling a little better now that I've rested most of the day, but now I'm not that tired from sleeping most of the day. I hope I'm able to get a good nights sleep tonight and wake up refreshed and renewed and 100% better!
Thank you all for your prayer support, it means a lot to me!
Training Day 24: February 4
Hey All-
I know, its been two days since I last posted.... I got a bad allergy attack yesterday and it turn more into a cold today :/ No fun!
Anyways... Today I walked six miles! 3.5 alone (I really enjoy that alone time) and another 2.5 with mom. It was such an amazingly beautiful day, again! Love, love, LOVE this nice weather- makes it so much more enjoyable for training too :)
Thank you all for praying for my knee! It is almost 100% better, it was a little sore after today's walk, but not too bad :)
I had coffee with my wonderful Grandma today- it was so fun to catch up with her a little and share what God is doing in our lives. Love ya Grandma!
Training Day 22: Febuary 2
Today is my younger brother (Joseph) 16th Birthday!!! So we kidnapped him, drove to the airport to pick up our oldest brother, who was coming home from KC. So good to have the family all together again!
My knee is still sore, so I didn't do any walking yesterday or today. Keep me in your prayers, a week off has been hard on me, training wise.
PRAISE REPORT! I received $200 on Monday! The next day someone pledged $555!! Praise be to Jesus! I have about half of what I need now!
Training Day 21: January 31
Today I woke up with a stiff and sore knee :( argh! Really?!?! So I spent the day relaxing by a pool and sipping iced tea... Oh wait... that's where I wanted to be :) I spent the day icing my knee, working in the office with dad and making some meals for this amazing (and large!) family of mine :)
I had a super-duper surprise (well, I knew ahead of time) of seeing one of my really good friends, who lives down south. Katherine came to hang out, drink coffee, sit by the fire and work of a film project with me :) Love you Katherine!
Please keep praying for my knee and lower back, both are really sore :( Well, I'm off to bed... so long till tomorrow!
Training Day 17: January 27
We were blessed with another warmish sunny day on Camano Island! Dad and I walked about three miles together and talked about justice films. We have so many ideas, many of our own and also from others we talk with!
Training Day 16: January 26
IT WAS A BEAUTIFUL SUNNY DAY HERE IN WASHINGTON!!!! Such a nice change from the regular coldness :) Thank you Jesus!
Janey and I walked a short two miles, but I also had dance, for three hours :) I'm so sore!
I want to share a quote from The Mantle of Esther:
Training Day 15: January 25
Today was a typical overcast beautiful, not too cold, Washington day. My amazing friend and I did an EIGHT mile trek! My longest yet!! Thanks Jamie for walking all that way with me :) Training is going great so far!
One of the things I love about Washington, and particularly where we live, is the beauty that I am surrounded by. Each and every day, I marvel at the stunning place the Lord created here! I mean, I look out my window and can see three mountain ranges (Mt. Baker, Mt. Rainier and Glacier Peak), an ocean inlet, rolling hills and beautiful forest. Oh... And not to forget the gorgeous sunrises and sunsets! I am truly blessed to live where I live!
Prayer:
Training Day 14: January 24
Training Day 12: January 22
My heart is heavy, for today marks the 39th anniversary of the Roe v Wade case which made abortion legal in our nation. Since 1973, more then 50 million children have not had the chance to live, to grow up and be a person in America... What if the next Rosa Parks or William Wilberforce was aborted? What has our nation done? The blood of the murdered children cry out... When will we hear and respond? Why have we been silent on this issue? How can we stay silent?
Norma McCorvey, the "Jane Roe" of Roe v Wade, is now an active pro-life advocate. She wants to see the death decree that bears her name reversed in her lifetime. "The holocaust against the unborn is the greatest sin they could ever do or even ever participate in."
Do we believe that our prayers matter? Do you believe that when you pray, it touches God's heart? For when we pray, we change history. Do you want to be a part of changing the history of abortion? Then PRAY that children sacrificed on the altar of connivence would stop!
I GOT MY FIRST PAIR OF WALKNG SHOES!! I'm so excited!!! The Lord blessed me and I found a pair for only $70. Later I found the same shoe for $120, direct from the online store - thank You Jesus for lower price!!
I walked around the mall and REI for about over an hour with mom, looking for the perfect shoes for me and we found it! I almost gave up after trying on at least 25 different shoes :)
The snow is finally melted, so I should be able to go walking tomorrow- hopefully the weather isn't nasty...
Training Day 10: January 20
Training Day 8: January 18
Training Day 7: January 17
Training Day 6: January 16
I'm taking a break from physical training today, but am thinking a lot about Martin Luther King Jr. Today we celebrate his birthday and all that he contributed, fought and died for in bringing social change to America. His life is an example of perseverance in something he believed so deeply about, that nothing could stop him from walking the road to bring equal rights to all Americans.
He said, "History will have to record that the greatest tragedy of this period of social transition was not the strident clamor of the bad people, but the appalling silence of the good people."* How many of us have been silent when it come to abortion? How many of us have said a prayer here and there, but not really believed that change could come to a Country where abortion is legal? "Never forget that everything Hitler did in Germany was legal"* It was legal to kill the millions of Jews, just as it was and is legal to kill millions of babies. How can we keep silent over this?
What if we could be the generation that breaks the bonds that entangle the lives of many Americans and change the laws, protecting the unprotected and being a voice for the voiceless? And 50 years from now take part in a National Day of Life and celebrate what was accomplished in bringing life to the unborn in America.

Training Day 5: January 15
Today was Sunday, it is suppose to be my 'rest' day, but I decided to make tomorrow (Monday) my rest day for this week...
After Church my friend, Jamie, and I grabbed some food and coffee and debated about walking together. It was a super cold day, but the sun had come out... which made it bearable... We decided to just start walking around town. Our town is divided into two parts; old town and newer town.... One is down in the flood plains and the other is up hill... We ended up walking most of the town :) The sun warmed us as we walked and the icy wind was pretty much non-existent for most of our two hour, 6.45 mile walk (biggest walk yet!) After the walk, I went over Jamie's house, where we made yummy spaghetti and worked on a pro-life short film script!
Jamie and I had SO much fun walking, talking and just having fun along the way! Thanks Jamie for walking with me, it made it very enjoyable :) I think we should make it a bi-weekly event!
Training Day 4: January 14
So... Woke up to a light dusting of snow on the ground today! But it melted by noon :( I walked a little over a mile with mom, as the sleet fell, our faces froze! Had a busy day with work and wasn't able to walk again till about 4pm and I grabbed my youngest brother and of course my faithful dog to join me on another three miles (I need to stop with the shorter miles! But by the time we had done three, it was almost dark... ) We walked the previous day's trek, plus through a few trails :) Oh.. and there was a freezing cold wind blowing the whole time, my family was numb!
I had a couple friends (and grandma!) ask if they could walk/ train with me! I'm so excited to be able to walk with some friends in the coming weeks!
I love where I live! I'm able to walk through beautiful nature and a quite neighborhood, at anytime of the day and not worry about lots of traffic...
Well... I'm tired and have a few assignments I have to finish up tonight... See you all tomorrow!
Today was a shorter walking day, but I also did dance class (which counts for core and strength training!)
I'm a little bit sore in the lower back today, so keep me in your prayers! Today I walked to the beach with my mom and dog (Chloe) who will be my walking partners for most of my training :)
Training Day 1: January 11
Over the next nine weeks till the Back to Life Walk- I will hopefully be updating this blog everyday- with photos and a short note about that days walk/training :)
So.. Today I walked 5 miles! A little sore, but not bad for the first 'big' walk for my Back to Life Walk training :) It was a beautiful sunny (cold!) day here in WA and I had fun walking with my younger brothers (15 and 11yrs old) and we had a stunning sunset!www.backtolifemovement.com
The past two days have been filled to overflowing!
Angela, one of the 39 walkers, flew out to the Seattle area to spend some time with my family! It's been fun having someone to walk with (though we haven't walked to many miles :)
We have been working on a top-secret film project (shhh... I didn't say anything :) and I will share more about this documentary when we launch the website- so stay tuned!
Please keep praying for my right eye infection, I went to the doctor last Wednesday, got on antibiotics and was doing good for a few days. I finished my antibiotics and my eye has started throbbing again :( Last night it was almost unbearable! I really don't want to have to go to the doctor again....
I went back to dance last night, after being off dance from almost two weeks (first because of my knee, then my eye). I had really missed my awesome dance studio! I was so glad to be back and start to learn some new dances!

Today when I walked about four miles, up a few hills, nothing much, but my knee stated to hurt a little near the end. I finished my walk and forgot about the pain. Later, during my second hour of dance/Pointe, my knee started to bother me again :( So I took it easy, or so I thought. A little later, I was doing a long jump combination and it really started to hurt, so I had to sit out for the remainder of class. All that to say, I am icing my knee and laying low... Not sure if I will be able to walk tomorrow.... Please keep me in your prayers, for a quick and complete healing, for my knee and lower back!
Today was Sunday. Every Sunday, I get to work with 20-50 children in KidChurch. I usually teach the K-2 grade children, but for the past few weeks, the K-2 have stayed with the 'older' kids :) I love watching the kids worship the Lord (some more animated then others :)
Today was my rest day for training, so I didn't walk....

- Still trusting Jesus for all the money I need

Training Day 14: January 24
Today the wind decided to pick up, we have over 25 mph wind gust at the beach!! Josh (the only sibling brave enough to face the weather with me) and I walked about three miles this morning, which I know isn't a lot, but with the wind gusts, it took some more effort!
The water is shallow here and we don't usually get any waves! |
I'm really enjoying my new shoes! They are so comfortable, I could just walk all day :)
I am currently reading a book titled, The Mantle of Esther, By Larry Christenson, the subtitle reads, Discovering the Power of Intercession. I am only a few chapters in to this powerful book, but have already been awakened anew to the thought that MY prayers really do matter! I am beginning to see the power my prayers have on what I ask the Lord for. I will try to give a full book review when I finish. :)
Training Day 12: January 22

I, Anna, can no longer let abortion be another social issue, but I pray to see it ended in my generation!! What if... this was the last year the we had to have an anniversary for Roe v Wade? What if... it ended this year? What if...
Today I walked about four miles with my dear friend, Jamie :) The weather outside was frightful! Icy wind and rain! We were both drenched by the end. We had a good laugh about how silly it was that we walked around town in this weather- people must have thought we were crazy! (which might be true if I wasn't training for the BTL walk...)
Training Day 11: January 21

Training Day 10: January 20
Today I went to a house of prayer in our region- They were doing worship and prayer night and at one point, a lady was praying for the ending of abortion in Washington State. Again I was gripped with the history of our state...
In 1970, Washington state was the first state to legalize abortion- almost three years before the Roe vs Wade case that legalized abortion in the United States. The Washington voters voted in killing babies in the womb. The slogan the pro- choice community used was, Every Child Should be Wanted. They made up bumper stickers and posters and based their campaign to legalize abortion on those words. How twisted is that? That the children who aren't wanted, should just be killed. I want to see a campaign raise up in Washington that says, Yes! every child is wanted! I want to see the Christians in my state take the lead and undo the death decree over the Northwest. I know that it can and will happen in my lifetime, through prayer and awareness.
Jesus, I plead Your blood over my sins and the sins of my state, God END abortion and send revival to Washington State!

I know that it can and will happen in my lifetime, through prayer and awareness.
Jesus, I plead Your blood over my sins and the sins of my state, God END abortion and send revival to Washington State!

Training Day 9: January 19
The more I study the book of Esther, the more I see how God's timing is perfect. Esther was raised up in her day, to reverse a death decree that was over her people. What if she would have remained silent? Mordica said this in Esther 4:14, "For if you keep silent at this time, relief and deliverance shall arise for the Jews from elsewhere, but you and your father's house will perish. And who knows but that you have come to the kingdom for such a time as this and for this very occasion?" She fasted and prayed and saw a reversal of the decree. When she thought that it was impossible, she did what very few people even dared to do. To go before the king uncalled for, was certain death, unless the king should hold out his golden scepter. (Esther 4) She was born for such a time and her voice saved a whole people group. I was born for such a time as this, and I pray that my voice will save the shedding of innocent blood of babies in my generation!
Training Day 8: January 18
Woke up to about five more inces of snow covering the ground! And it continued most of the day, but it was a really fine dusty/powdery snow.
Two of my amazing sisters walked a little over five miles today with me, through the snow and icy roads! We walked to the store, had cup of coffee and walked back. We had fun and are totally worn out and sore! A hot bath sounds really nice right now....
Please pray for me, its been a week since I started training and my lower back has been sore for a few days- no fun! :( ALSO... I haven't been getting the sleep I need every night, so don't feel totally rested when I wake up and it's harder to train when you're worn out! Thank you all for your faithful prayers for me.

So... I woke up today to a beautiful white, cold substance covering the ground!! Yep, we got about eight inches of snow overnight. But it made it so I couldn't really walk, but I did spend plenty of time playing with my siblings in the snow :)
Today at the International House of Prayer the leadership was crying out for breakthrough for revival to sweep America. It so impacted and encouraged my heart to hear/see a room full of people crying out for something in unison. Yes Lord! End abortion and send revival to America!
Martin Luther King Jr. had a dream to see equality in his day. I have a dream to see abortion ended in my generation. To see revival sweep across America, starting with the youth. To see a generation that cares more about what God thinks, then the way Hollywood is telling them to think. To see a purity revolution sweep across the youth. To see a people that "humble themselves and pray and fast and turn from their wicked ways" for then we shall see revival and healing in our Land! I have a dream...
God is raising up an Esther generation that have been prepared from such a time as this, ones that have not been marked by things of this world, who will save a generation from death. (TheCall and Bound4LIFE) God, end abortion and send revival to America!

Training Day 3: January 13
Ouch! I'm sore today :) It was such a beautiful day today on the Island, but was it oh so COLD!
The picture today shows my walking route (a short three miles....), the beautiful frost this morning, some majestic mountains and my Mama (ain't she beautiful!) She is the best walking partner, plus we get time to talk, which we don't usually do, because we don't have much free time :) and Dad join us a little today too :)
I'm trying to get a sibling or two (or more...) to join me as I walk- but I might have burned that bridge when I had my two younger brothers walk a little over five miles with me... :) We'll see :)

Training Day 2: January 12
